Church Secretary

CHURCH SECRETARY

We are now accepting applications for the full-time position of Church Secretary. We are looking for someone who has a heart for ministry and who possesses the gifts and skills required to serve in the areas of reception and ministry support.

The Church Secretary is responsible for the general clerical needs of the church.

Job requirements and qualifications:

  • High level of excellence in communication skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with basic office equipment and tasks
  • Comfortable with modern communication methods (i.e., texting, emailing, social media, etc.)
  • Proficient with computers, with particular emphasis on Word, Publisher, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • A cooperative spirit and a willingness to work with other staff for scheduling, projects, and other various tasks

This position provides normal benefits that are required by law (i.e., workman's compensation, Social Security, etc.)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the office for a daily working environment (i.e., turning on lights, stocking supplies, resetting breakroom, etc.)
  • Welcome members and guests into the office, determining their nature of business, and directing them accordingly
  • Answer phone calls, assisting contacts in fulfilling their needs, and directing them to other personnel when appropriate
  • Assist church staff with basic office tasks (i.e., taking payments/donations, making copies, communicating messages, organizing materials, etc.)
  • Maintain accurate lists and records, including but not limited to attendance records, prayer lists, activity signups, preschool registration, etc.
  • Maintain and update the church's calendar of events
  • Communicate with the church family regarding prayer concerns, upcoming events, etc.
  • Maintain an orderly and tidy working environment
  • Assist the ministers in special tasks when needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Office Hours: 8:30-4:30, Monday-Friday

Vacation Days: 1 week of vacation after 10 months; 2 weeks of vacation after 2 years

Sick Leave: 1 day per month of employment

Benefits: After three years, employer contributes an amount equal to 10% of salary to a 403(b) plan with Guidestone Financial Resources. No health/dental insurance is offered at this time, although employees are eligible to obtain group rate insurance on a pre-tax basis through Guidestone.

Paid Holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and subsequent Friday, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day

Media & Communications Director

MEDIA & COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR

We are now accepting applications for the full-time position of Media & Communications Director. We are looking for someone who has a heart for ministry and who possesses the gifts and skills required to serve in the areas of media, videography, and mass communication.

The Media & Communications Director is responsible for the media ministry and overall communication strategy of the church.

Job requirements and qualifications:

  • Proficient with cameras and basic videography equipment
  • Proficient with computers, with particular emphasis on graphic/video editing software
  • Comfortable with modern communication methods (i.e., texting emailing, social media, etc.)
  • High level of creativity and innovation
  • Self-motivated and able to multitask
  • High level of excellence in communication skills and attention to detail
  • A cooperative spirit and a willingness to work with other staff on projects and various ministry tasks
  • Experience in the field of media & communications is highly preferred

  • Record and edit videos for a variety of church ministries (i.e., worship services, announcements/updates, marketing, devotional content, etc.)
  • Upload and distribute appropriate media files to proper sources (i.e., website, social media, TV, radio, etc.)
  • Oversee and maintain effective livestreaming of worship services and other appropriate events
  • Maintain and sort video and media files
  • Lead in promotion and marketing efforts in both print and digital arenas
  • Communicate with the church family regarding weekly announcements, prayer concerns, and updates
  • Maintain appealing and up-to-date church website and social media platforms
  • Assist church organizations with technical and audio/visual needs, including but not limited to: video recordings, audio/visual presentations, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Office Hours: 8:30-4:30, Monday-Friday* (*Sunday will be considered a full working day for the Media & Communications Director; consequently, they will be allowed to take one weekday off in addition to Saturday.)

Nursery Worker

PRESCHOOL NURSERY WORKER

We are looking for a paid nursery worker who has a heart for infants and their care in a ministry setting.

The Preschool Nursery Worker is responsible for the care and wellbeing of babies through three-year-olds while at church on weekends and during special events.

Job requirements:

  • Able to commit to serving in the nursery area on Sundays from 10:30am until the worship service is over
  • Able to commit to serving in the nursery area on Wednesdays from approximately 5:30-7:30pm
  • Able to commit to serving in the nursery area during special events, such as revivals, men's events, women's events, bible studies, etc., as needed
